How does DABS work?
DABS uses item response theory and computerized adaptive testing to give the administrator the flexibility to select and present items based on the individual’s ability level. The administrator can individually tailor the DABS assessment process from a pool of over 500 items. These items relate directly to the concepts of gullibility, vulnerability, and social cognition (that involves social perception, the generation of strategies for resolving social problems, and consequential thinking). This “tailored testing” allows the interviewer to give different test items to different people but still place people on the same scale.
