How does DMAchoice work?
When a consumer registers with DMAchoice.org, his or her name and home address are placed on a “do-not-mail” file. DMA members are required to run their list of prospective customers against the file and remove individuals registered on DMAchoice from their mailings. DMAchoice.org is updated and distributed to mailers on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis depending on the preferences of that mailer. A name remains on DMAchoice for three years, after which time registration is required again. Mail typically begins to decrease approximately 90 days after a name is received.
