MPEG has had an active liaison with ITU-T/SG16, and has proposed extensions to H.245 (now included in H.245 V6) to support DMIF in H.324 terminals. This does not imply however that DS messages always map to H.245 messages: this is only a mode of operation that allows H.324 terminals to be enhanced with MPEG-4 and to inter-operate with MPEG-4 capable terminals.
