How does exclusionary netting work to keep birds away?
Netting, when installed properly, prevents birds from gaining access to nesting, roosting and landing areas. Net grids vary in sizes with holes ranging from two inches to three-quarter square inches. We always use the smaller three-quarter inch square hole net because it keeps even the smallest of birds out. The netting must be installed to take away any opening of three-quarter inches or more. Birds will aggressively search for ways inside the net for weeks after the net has been installed. If they find a hole large enough to squeeze through, the net exclusion will fail.
