We minimize the chance of sand and gravel mining damage by requiring that a Floodplain Use Permit (FUP) be issued for each sand and gravel operation. We require that applicants address concerns about bank stability and erosion by engineering analysis of the site activities and how they will affect the river morphology when floods occur.
