How does Omega-3 (EPA/DHA) differ from any other form of Omega-3?

The omega-3’s(EPA/DHA) are almost exclusively found in fish and algae (an ocean based plant.) The omega-3(ALA) is found in most vegetable oils and are found at high levels in flax seed. Unfortunately, your body is not able to convert very much of the ALA from your diet into the EPA/DHA type of omega-3. Therefore, while omega-3(ALA) from sources such as flax may be less expensive, their ability to provide the same health benefits of the omega-3(EPA/DHA) from sources such as fish is severely limited.
