How does OneHealthPort select new services?
New services are selected based on the needs expressed by the local healthcare community. The first new services—E-prescribing, online laboratory & radiology results, and online claims submission—were offered in response to OneHealthPort’s participation in a healthcare community survey process sponsored by the Washington Healthcare Forum. The “What’s Possible Project” interviewed a variety of health plans, physicians, hospitals and other groups to gain a better understanding of how best to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Based on these suggestions, OneHealthPort focused on Internet based services that can be quickly and easily adopted at a low or no cost to the provider community.
