How does positioning work in FrontView?

0

FrontView is continuously recording the GSM cells that are picked up by your phone. From the accumulated data it tries to figure out whether you are moving around or staying at one place. If you are likely to stay at one place, and the place can be properly characterized by a distribution of cells, then FrontView saves the data for that place (an “area”) and allows you to give it a meaningful name. In contrast, when the cell distribution does not suggest that you have been staying at the same place for a prolonged time, then FrontView concludes that you are moving. The probability of motion is shown as a red line in the rightmost icon indicator.
