How does the arrangement of xylem and phloem tissues differ in stems and roots?

Xylem and Phloem are two different tubes, each connecting to the roots up to the leaves. Phloem carries the nutrients up to the leaves, and Xylem carries the left overs or waste back down into the roots and soil. Google also helps a lot, i just did i 17 page lab report on this for my 7th grade science class and that plus worksheets are where i got many of my answers.
