How does the Boy Scout of America policy affect the relationship between United Way of Southern Nevada and the local Boy Scouts council?
United Way of Southern Nevada ensures that all partner agencies, including the Boulder Dam Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America, meet accreditation standards so that funds invested in programs are effectively addressing the needs of clients and participants and are producing meaningful results. The Boulder Dam Area Council currently meets these tests and, accordingly, will continue to receive financial support from United Way of Southern Nevada. The internal policy of United Way of Southern Nevada states that we will not discriminate against staff or volunteers based on sexual orientation.
