How does the distribution requirement of any 3 courses from a division provide a grounding of “core knowledge”?
It does not. The Committee felt that there is no consensus on what comprises “core knowledge”. Even if we could define it, the current list of 7 content areas is no more likely to guarantee a student graduating with what may be “core knowledge”. See the eloquent words of the core proposal.
