How does the “Extra-Credit” checkbox on the Assignment screen work?
First and foremost, selecting the “Extra-Credit” checkbox does NOT change how the assignment factors into the overall grade. All grading logic remains the same regardless of whether this option is selected. The only logic that takes place is all completion-status fields default to “Not Required to Complete” to facilitate giving an Extra-Credit assignment to one or a small handful of students. This option may be removed in the future since it has caused much confusion.
