How does the judge decide which treatment program I should attend?
A Jail Transition counselor will conduct an assessment of the clients needs, by reviewing alcohol or other drug history and current patterns of use. Other risk factors, such as inadequate housing, lack of support systems, and unemployment are also assessed. A recommendation is made to the judge based on the results of the assessment interview.
