How does the motion sensor work?
The Passive Infrared Sensor (PIR) being used in your system is actually detecting a change in infrared information in the area of coverage. All objects emit infrared energy. The PIR when installed gets a reading on all of the objects in the area of coverage and settles on an ambient temperature. When there is an intrusion, there is a change from the ambient reading and the PIR will go into an alarm condition and activate the alarm system.
