How does the Pier Permit Program work?
Presently, no new applications are being accepted due to the moratorium enacted by the Town Board. Prior to the moratorium, the resident who had previously been permitted to place a pier on the access has the first right of application. If that person fails to apply, or is denied for failing to meet the requirements, then the next person on the waiting list would be presented the opportunity to apply for a permit. This process is reviewed annually by the Town Board as required by ordinance.
