first, go to settings tap wifi and under choose a network, there should be list of networks you could possibly connect to if a network does not have a lock next to it, it is not secure and you can tap on it to connect to that network but those are usually weak if a network has a lock next to it, then it is secure and you have to know the password to connect to that network once you have connected to a network for the 1st time, ur ipod touch will always connect to that network when it is in range (this applies to more than one network) if there were not any unsecured wireless networks for you to connect to, go to a store (i would suggest best buy) and buy a router ($80- $100) and if ur computer cannot receive wireless networks, u’ll have to also buy a network adapter ($20-$50) follow the directions on the router to setup ur wireless network or you can pay best buy to set it up for you but setting up a wireless network is not that hard and if u have questions, u can always call the manuf

The Wi-Fi on an iPod Touch is transmitted through a small black piece on the top left (back) of the iPod, and it receives data through the router allowing you to have Wi-Fi capabilities. I would recommend this for you, if you would like a router: http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite… Just plug it in, and make sure you have some sort of cable provider to have it work.
