How does WWA use the data provided by Member groups?
Welsh Assembly Government: Statistics are used to illustrate to the Welsh Assembly that there is still a need for domestic abuse services and to identify gaps in service provision, as well as identifying trends and providing evidence to legislative bodies and funders. Research: We provide statistics to outside organisations and individuals who are conducting research in the field of domestic abuse. Consultations: Specialist members of the national team and external agencies use the statistics to respond to various consultations, and the statistics are also used to respond to media requests. We regularly receive requests for up to date statistics on domestic abuse from Media sources, domestic abuse coordinators, and other organisations. Campaigning & Funding Applications: The statistical data that we collect can be used to more effectively campaign for other resources.
