How exactly does the failover service work?

Once our monitoring system detects and confirms a critical state for your service, it then issues the command to go to your offline settings. The offline settings takes effect within 5 minutes or less. Monitoring will then continue to watch the critical service and un-do the failover to your offline settings when the service becomes alive again. Or, if your update client sends an update the failover process will be cancelled. If your service is in a warning state it does not failover to your offline settings. For the most part, a warning state means your site/service is still reachable, but slow.
