How good are protecta, franchi and winchester shotguns?
I used to own a Winchester 1300 Ranger with Deer Slug barrel before the federal government here in Australia decided to restrict the firearms people could own. I originally wanted a Remington 870 but was convinced to try the Winchester because a friend had a model 1200 Ranger. The action on the Rangers is very strong and the whole package is hard wearing. They’re also pretty easier to maintain. On some shotguns the barrel is fitted by a gunsmith so you can’t just remove it but for the Ranger, barrel change was very simple. You could easily have a short barrel like the Deer Slug barrel for home defence and then get a longer barrel for hunting and change from one to the other in less than a minute. The Winchester Defender is very similar to the Ranger but I think you can’t change the barrel on it. It’s nice and short for tactical use but with a Ranger, you can have two or three different barrels for a range of uses. Gives you a lot more versatility. Anyways, for what it’s worth, that’s m
