How hard is it to become a foreign exchange student?

The ‘big three’ organizations are AFS, YFU, and Rotary. These are the safest, most reliable organizations you will find. AFS and YFU tend to be much more expensive than Rotary. Exact prices for AFS and YFU are listed on their sites, while exact Rotary Youth Exchange prices depend on your local Rotary club. Before you worry about prices, though, realize that there are scholarships out there, and you always have the ability to fundraise on your own. While most scholarships are partial, some, like the Yoshi Hattori Memorial Scholarship (AFS only/Japan), and Congress-Bundestag (Germany) are full scholarships for a whole school year.
