How have recent deployments affected patient care?
Im sure many of you have seen the announcements in the news of deploying military forces to Southwest Asia and the region. When these units deploy, Moncrief also deploys by sending professional fillers, such as physicians, physician assistants, nurses, and others. Today, many have left Moncrief and their families to attend to Americas needs, and they play a critical role in defending Americas interests abroad.Simultaneously, the demand for healthcare services at Fort Jackson remains high. We are committed to continuing to provide you safe, quality, and compassionate care as well as access to appointments. This unexpected loss of staff has caused several short term problems: fewer available appointments, fewer available operating rooms, fewer nursing staff to support the inpatient beds, and other second and third order effects.
