How is ATN stock traded?
ATN is a publicly-traded limited liability company which operates similar to a master limited partnership (“MLP”). An MLP is traded in the public exchanges and can be purchased and sold similar to a traditional company’s stock. ATN pays cash distributions each quarter, which represent a return of invested capital to each common unitholder. Therefore, these distributions are tax-deferred until the units are sold or the unitholder’s basis goes below zero, whichever occurs first. For more information on tax treatment of cash distributions from master limited partnerships, please visit the Internal Revenue Service’s website: www.irs.
