How is coaching different from counselling/psychotherapy and other professions?

0

Counselling and psychotherapy are focused on analyzing or finding the reason behind the problem whereas coaching is future oriented with a larger emphasis on the future and getting results. However, it should be stated that there are some similarities including confidentiality, listening, questioning, providing support and encouragement and helping to gain clarity of thought and purpose. If a Coach has any reason to believe that the client would benefit more from counselling or another form of therapy, it is their duty to share this with the client.
