How is De Montforts Business Information Systems degree different from BIS and BIT degrees at other universities?
Unfortunately, completed years on a similar degree do not automatically qualify you for direct entry to later years of this degree. This is because our BIS degree differs in some significant ways from otherwise similar courses. In particular: • We have been pioneers in taking an object-oriented approach to systems analysis and design throughout all years. If you have not studied object-oriented approaches before, you may not be eligible for advanced standing. • We stress the importance of business subjects with a truly business focus (roughly 25% of the overall degree content). Thus the degree includes some business modules that are taught and assessed by the Faculty of Business and Law.
