How is denim stitching done?

I use a denim needle and a regular straight stitch, lengthened a bit. Use YLI Jeans thread in the bobbin and needle. Practice on a scrap to get the tension correct. You might have to loosen your needle tension. On some machines you need to loosen the bobbin tension as well. Just be sure to mark where the original bobbin tension was set or you will have a hard time getting the tension back to normal. Also don’t back stitch at the beginning and end. Pull the tails to the back and tie off and put a dab of fray check on the knot.
