Fibro is indeed diagnosed by process of elimination. As the doctors know so very little about it as of yet, this is about the best thing they can do right now to diagnose it. the process of elimination is often long and gruelling however, as so many of the symptoms are so like symptoms of other conditions, and as a result of this, it can take years before an official diagnosis is reached. Many symptoms of fibro are chronic fatigue, pain in your joints, a generalised achy pain all over your body, lack of motivation, depression, stiffness, becoming tired very quickly, and unexplained twitching anywhere on the body. There is no know cause for it (yet) but it is common for fibro to develop after surgery. But it can also develop “out of nowhere”. There are also theories that it may be genetic.
