How is qualification and listing obtained for a Bluetooth product?
To ensure product interoperability, the Bluetooth SIG requires that all Bluetooth products be tested by a recognized BQTF and that a BQE review all test reports. After all documentation shows specification compliance, a product will be qualified and listed on the Bluetooth website of Qualified Listings. In order to have a product listed on the Bluetooth website, manufacturers must first declare all supported functional capabilities on the PICS (Protocol / Profile Implementation Conformance Statement). Each feature declared on the PICS must pass all related test cases, with the results documented on the official Test Plan Declaration. The latest version of the Test Case Reference List (TCRL) published on the Bluetooth website shall be always referenced to use. The TCRL specifies Test Case Category, Category B & C test cases can be performed by Bluetooth members and Category A test cases shall be carried out at a recognized Bluetooth Qualification Test Facility (BQTF).
