How is speech taught at CSD if teachers do not use spoken English all day in the classrooms?

The Spoken English/Communication Department seeks to take advantage of the enriched signing environment at CSD as the students increase their language skills and have more internal language to try to put into spoken words. This strong language foundation is used to help students understand the specific speech instruction. Various articulation techniques are used as well as visual supports including demonstration, pictures, and computer software that provide visual representations of sound.
