Typically, a computer science curriculum prepares students for hardcore programming and to develop, maintain, and administer computer systems in any industry. The MIS program focuses on equipping students with skills to develop, maintain, and administer business applications and systems. Neither one is better than the other – they’re just different; however, there is some overlap in the coursework for the two majors.
