How is the reliability / credibility of the LCI data ensured?
Next to general quality requirements on data, the principal reliability and credibility of the LCI data has to be guaranteed in order to meet the respective needs in industry and government. A corresponding independent review process with stricter requirements than requested in the review frame given in ISO 14040 will be developed within the Platform project and in close consultation with the stakeholders. Once, this review process is developed, it will help to ensure the reliability and credibility of the LCI data in the ELCD database. It is to be highlighted, that the first version of the LCI data sets in the ELCD database will undergo a limited but external and independent review prior to publication.
