How is the Rising Fellows Program different from the BES Fellowship?
The Rising Fellows Program prepares leaders for the BES Fellowship and school founding in the future. The goal of the program is to prepare for the BES Fellowship in two ways – first it matches talented individuals to positions at strong urban charter schools, where they will contribute every day to core functions of the schools and second, trains participants to develop their no-excuses leadership to the level ready to take on the role of school founder. The training for the Rising Fellows parlays into the training for the BES Fellowship where BES Fellows then engage in the school design process. The BES Fellowship prepares entrepreneurial leaders to design, found, and lead gap-closing urban charter schools. From the moment Fellows enter the BES Fellowship they are two years away from doors opening to their first students.
