How is the sponsorship money spent?

The sponsorship amount of $30.00 per month is based on the cost of helping one child participate in a Viva Kids partner program. All sponsorship monies are pooled and the monies used to benefit all the children participating in the program. The more sponsors we have, the more children we can have participating in our partner program. The graph below illustrates how the funds are distributed.

Your sponsorship money is spent for ten different purposes i) enrollment in schools, mainly government schools, ii) regular home visits so that the child do not remain absent or drop out, iii) remedial education during the evening, iv) counselling to children and parents, v) uniforms and books, vi) school admission fee, tuition fee, examination fee (wherever applicable), vii) traveling allowance (if the student is required to travel), viii) admission and tuition fees for training, ix) training kits and x) monthly stipend (to specific children who need the same). We also put orphan, single parent and children from difficult family circumstances in hostels so that they can continue their education in a trouble free environment. In such major part of the sponsorship money is spent on hostel related expenditures. 10% of the sponsorship amount is spent on administrative purposes like salary of sponsorship executive/s, monitoring, database management and communications etc.
