Throughput is calculated on all Applications and all Flows as: [The number of bytes] / [total time] In the event of an application or flow experiencing idle time (such as an open Telnet session with no activity) we give 2 seconds of idle time before omitting the idle period from the total time. Current throughput as seen on the Summary tab of the Application Monitor page is calculated every second and is calculated using the first flow for the start of the total time and number of bytes.
