How is Vossler Angus different from conventional beef when it comes to antibiotics?
The majority of conventional beef producers in the U.S. administer antibiotics to their cattle, according to the Union of Concerned Scientists. These producers add sub-therapeutic levels of antibiotics into the animals’ feed (or through direct injections) for disease prevention and to increase their growth rate and weight. Unlike conventional beef producers, Vossler Angus believes it is unnatural and unnecessary to give drugs to healthy animals for the sake of accelerated production.
