How long after bleeding does it take for a miscarriage to happen?
In the case of a missed miscarriage it can be weeks. I had a blighted ovum where the embryo never develops (but the sac does) and I didn’t start bleeding until I was 8 weeks and even then it was only for a few hours and very light. It then stopped and hadn’t started again when I had a D&C 1.5 weeks later. WIth my second miscarriage I started bleeding even though the baby was still alive. I had a scan that showed a heartbeat even though I was bleeding a lot, but I miscarried a few days later. I’m afraid there are no rules. Each time it is different.
