How long do clementines last before they spoil?
Fresh citrus varies in how long it stays fresh. It depends on whether you keep it out on your counter-top, or if you keep it in the fridge, but I would estimate their freshness to last no longer than a week/week-and-a-half tops. Keeping the clementines in the refrigerator will extend their life by a few days, but you also run the risk of them absorbing any bad or strong odors you may have in the fridge (i.e. onions, garlic, last week’s leftover General Tso’s chicken, etc.). One other tip that might help is to leave them out on your counter in a relatively shallow basket or bowl. This not only showcases them beautifully, but also allows for greater air circulation which helps keep them from spoiling prematurely. Keep an eye out for clementines that show any signs of rotting, including white spots, fuzzy patches, dark spots and ones that look like a partially deflated balloon. If you see these signs, get rid of the ones that look bad, and check the others for spoilage. It spreads quickly
