How long do experiments take?
Experiments are designed to take most students from 30 to 40 minutes to complete. If you finish an experiment in considerably less time, you will typically be asked to fill out additional short surveys. There is typically no time benefit to finishing early. If an experiment takes most students substantially longer than 45 minutes, we will note that it is a long experiment on the signup page and award additional credits for participation. You will not be asked to stay longer than 45 minutes for a 1 credit experiment. Be sure when signing up for an experiment that you do not have time constraints. If you have to leave early or rush through an experiment, you will not receive credit for participating. You should plan on being at the lab for 45 minutes.
