How long does it take to boil a cow tongue?

Well, I like the first guy’s answer, but if you are going to cook cow tongue, you need to simmer it for 50 minutes per lb. (I would let the water come to a boil first, then turn it down to a simmer when you add the tongue) I was reading this recipe and was okay with it, until I got to the part about removing the skin and gristle of the tongue. (that comes after the simmering part) Cow tongues are fairly thick…but I guess they vary enough in size that you’d have to figure out the exact time based on the tongue you purchased. Bon appetit!
