How long does it take to brew beer using a kit like Mr. Beer?
Firstly, let me say that the Mr. Beer is a horrible excuse for a homebrew setup. Your bf would be a lot happier, and a lot better off if you got him a ‘starter kit’ from a local homebrew shop. Mr. Beer’s recipes use pre-hopped malt kits, which are not very good quality. If your bf is a beer lover, and if he wants to be involved in any way with the brewing, he will very quickly move up from the Mr. Beer (most brewers move up after only 1 or 2 batches). If you get a starter kit, you can make a much better beer using ‘extract brewing kits’ from homebrew shops, and there are a lot more recipes available also. Also, down the road if he wants to move up to all grain brewing, or up his production, the starter kit will still be usable, unlike the Mr. Beer.
