How long does it take to make a batch of soap?

– Cold Process soaps take 4 weeks. Melt and Pour soaps take 24 hours. Cold Process soaps are made by combining lye and fats to cause saponification (the transformation from lye/fats to soap). A full 4 weeks of ‘curing’ time is required in order to eliminate all lye from the mixture, and to properly harden the bar. Melt and Pour soaps are made by melting large blocks of ready-made vegan soap base, then adding colors & fragrances, and molding as desired. Both Melt and Pour and Cold Process soaps are available in our Store.
