How Long does it Typically take to Complete the RN to BSN Program?
Depends on how much of your general ed. credits you have done, and it depends on how many credits you take per semester. I completed mine in 2 years, but I had completed all my gen eds except for 2 courses, and then only needed 30 credits of the nursing courses. Usually 2-3 years is probably about average. And just so you know – the program is nowhere near as hard as the initial associate degree program where you learn all the really complex info. The BSN completion is more about theory, models of care, leadership, research, etc. I went through an online program at a local state university, there were only online open-book quizzes and the rest of the grades were based on discussion board message postings and papers we had to write. It’s a lot less demanding. So don’t let your ASN program scare you away from wanting to complete the BSN later! 🙂 Good luck!
