How long is the term for elected and appointed officials?
According to the constitution and by-laws of the IAFF/PFANJ the term for both E-Board and Delegate positions is 2 years. The rationale behind this is simply: the general time frame for the initial negotiation of a contract takes approximately 2 years. This eliminates the change of officers mid way through the contract, which would in fact change all of the items up for negotiations currently on the table. Administrative Delegates (of which we are allowed 3) are appointed by the President and will serve from the time and date of appointment until the term of the president is up.
