How long will a cruise ship last cut off from the world?

We took on the amount of food needed for however long the voyage was planned for and how many people were on board. If only 1800 passengers were scheduled, we took on less food than if 3000 passengers were scheduled to board. When traveling from San Francisco to Hawai’i we took on more food than we did traveling around the Hawai’ian islands since we picked up some food in each port. We had 6 diesel engines that made electricity for the propeller, power for lights, heating, cooling, cooking,…., made water (besides for what we picked up every day in port). The ship was moving maybe half the time (but always making water and electricity) and we had to refuel about every 4 weeks.
