But 447,000 infant car seat carriers are now on the recall list for posing a danger to children. “Because the child restraint handle to this seat can loosen and come off and that’s a fall hazard for infants,” said Patty Davis, a spokeswoman for the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Dorel Juvenile Group Inc., of Columbus, Ind., has received 77 reports of the child restraint handle fully or partially coming off the products. The recall involves Safety 1st, Cosco, Eddie Bauer and Disney branded infant car seat carriers with certain model numbers.
