How many CAHs are there and where are they located?
As of September 2008, there are 1,294 certified Critical Access Hospitals located throughout the United States. The Flex Monitoring Team maintains a list of Critical Access Hospitals which includes the hospital name, city, state, zip code and effective date of CAH status. If you would like a list of Critical Access Hospitals which includes their street addresses, you can contact the American Hospital Association, and for a fee they will provide a list.
