There is a term called the Basal metabolic rate, which is the calories burned per day before you do anything at all. Just lie in bed all day and breathe. There is a formula based on age, sex, and height which approximates this figure. It is around about 1650 calories per day for me, an almost 40 year old male who is 5’10”. The average male my age does another 900 calories a day in exercise. Some days I do a 10 mile run, and I have measured that that is the equivalent of another 900 calories. So 2500 on a day when I do not jog, and 3400 is required when I do a 10 mile jog. This appears to be quite accurate as my weight does not fall or rise when I average 3000 calories a day, and I do a 10 mile jog every 2 days. The answer will be different for you. However, for a female of the same age and height the BMR only drops to 1490. So there is not a great difference.
