How many Italians were killed in Car bomb at Kabul?
Sept. 17 (Bloomberg) — Six Italian soldiers and 10 Afghan civilians were killed when a suicide bomber crashed a car into a military convoy in central Kabul in the deadliest attack against Italy’s forces in the country. Four Italian soldiers were seriously injured in the attack and more than 50 civilians were hurt, NATO’s Afghan command said on its Web site. A white Toyota filled with explosives slammed into the convoy and detonated, Italian Defense Minister Ignazio La Russa said today in Rome. The Taliban claimed the attack, Associated Press reported, citing a spokesman. “It was a cowardly attack on those that have saved many lives,” La Russa said in the Senate in Rome. Today’s blast brings to 20 the number of Italian soldiers who have died in Afghanistan since Italy’s troops arrived in 2004.
