How many people for a relay team?
The relay is a two or three person open class. the team decides how to split the race legs up. As an example, a two person team running the long course might decide to have one person ride both MTB legs (20.5 miles total) and one person do the trekking portion (8.5 miles). The ‘sprint’ start may be completed by either member. The course will have a bike finish. We recommend the finish be completed by the person selected to MTB, otherwise, you’ll introduce an unnecessary transition. The only rule to remember for structuring the team is a single event leg shall not be split between two team members.
