How many people use VM’s hyperbaric program every year?
As hyperbaric oxygen therapy has become an increasingly accepted therapy for a core group of 13 illnesses, and as more research is being done to support these treatments, Virginia Mason’s case load has increased significantly. Currently, the Center for Hyperbaric Medicine treats approximately 250 patients annually. The Center has provided more than 125,000 hours of service to more than 5,000 patients since 1969 with slightly more than half treated for emergency conditions.
