A campus shooting has a Northern California college on lockdown as police search for a suspect who wounded a student. The bleeding student came into the learning center at Skyline Community College in San Bruno about 1 p.m., said Leslie Shelton, director of the center. “We were alerted there was an active shooter,” Shelton said. The student had been shot in the buttocks, said Barbara Christensen, San Mateo Community College District director of community and government relations. The student was taken to the health center as staff called 911. SWAT officers were searching buildings as the campus was evacuated, The Skyline View, the school newspaper, said on its Web site. Police cordoned off the school parking lot with yellow tape, closed buildings and checked cars while searching for the shooter. Skyline College in San Bruno was put on lockdown Wednesday afternoon following a shooting on campus, students and school officials said.

A man was shot at Skyline College in San Bruno at about 1:30 p.m. and the campus has been locked down while police search for four suspects. The shooting victim is reportedly conscious and breathing and was transported to San Francisco General Hospital, said San Bruno Fire Chief Dennis Haag.
